Annotated Classic The Genetic Program of Apoptosis

چکیده
We are pleased to present a series of Annotated Classics celebrating 40 years of exciting biology in the pages of Cell. This installment revisits “Genetic Control of Programmed Cell Death in the Nematode C. elegans” by Hilary M. Ellis and H. Robert Horvitz. Here, David Vaux comments on the work that first demonstrated that cell death was controlled by a genetic program by identifying genes that were essential for its regulation. This breakthrough also showed that programmed cell death was a normal part of the development in a multicellular organism. Robert Horvitz shared the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Sydney Brenner and John E. Sulston for this discovery.

Frequency Control of Isolated Hybrid Power Network Using Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization
This paper, presents a suitable control system to manage energy in distributed power generation system with a Battery Energy Storage Station and fuel cell. First, proper Dynamic Shape Modeling is prepared. Second, control system is proposed which is based on Classic Controller. This model is educated with Genetic Algorithm and particle swarm optimization. The proposed strategy is compared with ...
متن کاملمدل حل مبتنی بر جستجوگر محلی ژنتیک برای مساله زمان بندی استقرار کارگاهی تعمیم یافته با زمانهای عملیات قابل کنترل
Although incorporating complexities and flexibilities of real world manufacturing systems into classic scheduling problems results in problems with greater complexity, it has immense theoretical and practical importance due to its impressive effect on system performance. In this research, three basic assumptions of a job shop scheduling problem have been revised to develop a model with three ty...

متن کاملAnnotated Checklist of Rotifers of Tehran Province, Iran, with Notes on New Records
Despite rapid growth of our knowledge on the phylum Rotifera, only few studies on Iranian rotifers have been carried out. In this paper, we present a checklist of rotifers from the province of Tehran in Iran. In total, 45 species of rotifers (class Eurotatoria) are reported. Most of the recorded species are cosmopolitan in distribution. Cephalodella ventripes, Dicranophorus forcipatus, D. luetk...
